Lisa Marie Frehse

Furniture & product design
Based in London

I work with my hands before I work on a screen.

Portrait of Lisa Marie Frehse

Early years shaped by internships at David Chipperfield Architects and Baier Bischofberger, where spatial and logical thinking became second nature.

I work with my hands before I work on a screen: twelve A3 sketchbooks in two years, fifty cardboard models in three days, every idea tested and translated into final material prototypes myself.

My eye is trained daily — five images, one theme, every day, like a visual diary. My research is deep and analogue, rooted in history, material and place, informed by years of engaging with design culture across multiple countries and contexts, always asking where something comes from before asking what it could become.
